Beginner

5yo & up

This class is the first level of our girls' gymnastics program. During this class, children will learn an established routine including three 15-minute rotations on that week's events. Class time will always include rotations on floor and bars, and alternate odd and even weeks between vault and balance beam. Progress reports evaluate students on the core skills required to move up to Advanced Beginner. Core Vault Skills: 1. Run, straight jump to Resi Core Bar Skills: 1. Cast hips off bar 2. Pull over w/block 3. Glide Swing Core Beam Skills: 1. Backward walks on medium beam 2. Donkey kick 3. L-handstand on low beam with panel mats Core Floor Skills: 1. Handstand to lunge 2. Cartwheel to lunge 3. Backward roll on floor Max class size: 8:1

Advanced Beginner

5yo & up

The second level of our girls’ gymnastics program follows the same class structure but takes a step up from the Beginner class by adding in a fourth 15-minute rotation. Each week, students will train on bars, balance beam and floor, and alternate time on vault and tumble track. Skills at this level are progressively harder and build the strength needed to advance through the program. Core Vault Skills: 1. Straight jump to Resi, kick to handstand, fall to flatback Bars Core Skills: 1. 5 second chin hold 2. Pull over 3. Two in a row glide swings Core Beam Skills: 1. Pivot turns on medium beam 2. Straight jump on medium beam 3. L-handstand on low beam Core Floor Skills: 1. Handstand to bridge 2. Bridge to kickover 3. Run, hurdle, cartwheel Core Tramp/Tumble Track Skills: 1. Roundoff 2. Peanut roll Max class size: 8:1

Intermediate 1

5yo & up

The third level of our girls’ gymnastics program offers a more advanced set of skills to practice and attain. Students will follow the same class routine consisting of four 15-minute events including bars and floor weekly, tramp or tumble track weekly, and vault and balance beam biweekly. Skills at this level become more difficult and require a higher degree of strength and mental focus. Core Vault Skills: 1. Handstand to flatback on Resi with tramp board Core Bar Skills: 1. Pull up, pull over w/bar above head 2. Squat on (bar at knee height) 3. Back hip circle Core Beam Skills: 1. Split jump on low beam 2. Handstand to vertical on low beam 3. Roundoff dismount off end of medium beam Core Floor Skills: 1. Front walkover or front limber off a panel mat 2. Back handspring over boulder 3. Hurdle, roundoff + rebound Core Tramp Skills: 1. Flyspring 2. Back handspring Max class size: 8:1

Intermediate 2

5yo & up

This fourth level of our girls’ gymnastics program increases training time to 75 minutes per class. Students train consistently on each of these 5 events: vault, bars, beam, floor and tumble track or tramp. Skills at this level become increasingly more difficult and require a higher level of confidence and perseverance to master. Core Vault Skills: 1. Handstand to flatback on Resi with spring board Core Bar Skills: 1. Front support, drop to toes + hold for 1 second 2. Cast + Squat on (bar above hips) + Jump to land 3. Glide + toes to bar Core Beam Skills: 1. Half turn on high beam 2. Handstand to vertical on medium beam 3. Cartwheel on low beam Core Floor Skills: 1. Front handspring step out 2. Back handspring down wedge 3. Back walkover Core Tumble Track/Tramp Skills: 1. Front handspring 2. Roundoff + back handspring Max class size: 8:1

Advanced

5yo & up

At the fifth level within our girls’ gymnastics program, students are pushed to excel at a high level of difficulty, training for 75 minutes on five, 15-minute events. At this level, students advance to using the uneven bars and vault table and expand their knowledge and skill set as they learn increasingly difficult skills on every event. Core Vault Skills: 1. Front handspring or 1/2 on over small, red 1/2 resi Core Bar Skills: 1. Front hip circle 2. Cast, squat on, jump to high bar 3. 3x tap swing, drop to feet Core Beam Skills: 1. Back walkover or Front walkover on low beam 2. Cartwheel on high beam 3. Handstand to vertical on high beam Core Floor Skills: 1. Front handspring 2. Back handspring from stand 3. Roundoff + back handspring Core Tumble Track/Tramp Skills: 1. 1/1 turning jump shape 2. Front tuck 3. Back tuck Max class size: 8:1

Super
Advanced

5yo & up

This class helps students who have passed out of our Advanced class prepare for High School gymnastics. The emphasis is on advancing in the following areas: connection tumbling passes, tumbling and leaping on balance beam, front handspring and half-on vaults and uneven bar kips and connections. Additionally, strength, conditioning and flexibility are incorporated each week. Within this class, students will continue to build their gymnastics repertoire with greater emphasis on form and strength. Core Vault Skills: 1. Front handspring or 1/2 on over vault table Core Bar Skills: 1. Kip 2. Squat on, jump to high bar (resi under) 3. Cast, push away, long hang pullover Core Beam Skills: 1. Back walkover or Front walkover on high beam 2. 3/4 turning jump shape 3. Back or front tuck dismount off end Core Floor Skills: 1. Front tuck 2. Roundoff + back handspring + back tuck 3. 1/1 turning jump shape Core Tumble Track/Tramp Skills: 1. Back twist 1/1 2. Front handspring + front tuck 3. Roundoff + back handspring+ back tuck or layout (tumble track) Max class size: 8:1
